'Oya's Rainstorm' was composed right at the end of a live Gig at a restaurant called 'The Rookery' in Downtown Macon. The inspiration and melody hit after the set and ended up becoming an encore when someone yelled "ONE MORE SONG!" i was not yet doing 'vocal' baselines but I heard it in my head . . I just made up a groove and this arrangement came to me and it felt so cool I flowed with it for almost 4 minutes and decided to track it as soon as i got back to the studio . . a block away . . . During the Gig there was a huge thunderstorm. After the gig the rain was light but steady so I carried the sound equipment in the rain, with guitar in backpack style, a box mixer in my left hand, and a PV 15 speaker in my right, thru the alley next to the rookery leading over to my studio in the Arts Exchange Building on Mulberry Street, up the long stairs to my second floor studio, and immediately multi-tracked a loop that was later stretched into this song in the Late night on the last Thursday of July 2013 working until about 3 a.m. to do the first mix. The cover pic was taken on the same floor in the same building in the room used for Art Gallery Showings :)
